Normal Park
Normal Park is a large community of homes located just west of downtown Ypsilanti just off South Congress Street. There are about 700 homes in the neighborhood with a wide range of floor plans to choose from, many of which are at a more modest starting price for first-time homeowners. You’ll find home styles from various eras like Victorian, Revival, Queen Anne, Craftsman, and other popular early 20th-century styles. Normal Park is located directly south of the Eastern Michigan University campus, so you’ll find plenty of shops and places for foodies like Dom Bakeries, Basil Babe, Gora’s Grill, and STUFD Got Burger. Being that the neighborhood is so close to campus, you’ll also find walkable recreational areas along with plenty of arts and cultural activities. Normal Park is fully paved with sidewalks and has an active community association along with a beautiful community garden and an annual community music festival in the spring. Active homeowners love this community because there’s so much to do and see. Recreation Park sits just south of the property, boasting 17 acres of community gardens, a swimming pool, a senior center, basketball courts, and a children’s playground. The nearby Huron River also provides plenty of opportunities for the active water lover. Downtown Ypsilanti is known for its charm and rich history going back to the early 20th century. The Ypsilanti Automotive Heritage Museum is a local treasure where visitors can learn more about the town’s rich automotive manufacturing industry.
